Oxygen Price in India (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average oxygen import price amounted to $17 per cubic meter, surging by 161% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 2,201%. The import price peaked at $51 per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($70 per cubic meter), while the price for Australia ($1.6 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+878.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Oxygen Price in India (FOB) - 2023
The average oxygen export price stood at $218 per thousand cubic meters in July 2023, with an increase of 5.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 99% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $415 per thousand cubic meters in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Bhutan ($282 per thousand cubic meters), while the average price for exports to Nepal ($194 per thousand cubic meters) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Oxygen Imports in India
In 2022, imports of oxygen into India dropped notably to 30K cubic meters, with a decrease of -96.5% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 7,023%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 857K cubic meters, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, oxygen imports contracted rapidly to $510K in 2022. In general, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 1,403% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.6M, and then declined markedly in the following year.

Oxygen Exports in India
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of oxygen decreased by -67% to 4.3M cubic meters in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 150%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 13M cubic meters, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, oxygen exports declined remarkably to $936K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 188%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $2.8M, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
