Paddy Rice Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average paddy rice import price amounted to $850 per ton, with a decrease of -3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a pronounced contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $1,228 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($950 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($474 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Czech Republic (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Paddy Rice Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2022
The average paddy rice export price stood at $2,914 per ton in 2022, reducing by -14.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, posted a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 130%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,637 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($8,583 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($2,088 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+26.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Paddy Rice Imports in Slovakia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of paddy rice decreased by -36.4% to 251 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 403 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, paddy rice imports contracted dramatically to $213K in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $355K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
