Palm Oil Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average palm oil import price amounted to $1,639 per ton, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 7.4% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $1,766 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,679 per ton), while the price for Spain ($1,336 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Palm Oil Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average palm oil export price stood at $1,728 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -3.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 9.7% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,229 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,791 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovakia ($1,535 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Palm Oil Imports in Poland
Palm oil imports into Poland declined slightly to 247K tons in 2022, leveling off at the year before. Overall, imports continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The smallest decline of -0.9% was in 2021.
In value terms, palm oil imports skyrocketed to $396M in 2022.
