Pasta Products Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
In March 2022, the average pasta products export price amounted to $1,870 per ton, surging by 2.2% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2021 to March 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2021 an increase of 6.6% month-to-month. The export price peaked in March 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($2,804 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($1,446 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+5.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pasta Products Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average pasta products import price amounted to $2,767 per ton, surging by 19% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 when the average import price increased by 37% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,908 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($3,777 per ton), while the price for China ($1,978 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pasta Products Exports in Indonesia
In 2022, shipments abroad of dried, undried and frozen pasta and pasta products decreased by -5.3% to 168K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 186K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, pasta products exports rose notably to $304M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 21%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $307M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
