Peanut Butter Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average peanut butter import price stood at $2,735 per ton in September 2023, rising by 9.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 17% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,768 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($6,602 per ton), while the price for Argentina ($2,043 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Peanut Butter Price in Australia (FOB) - 2023
The average peanut butter export price stood at $3,385 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 29% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 30% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $4,496 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($9,490 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Zealand ($2,613 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Peanut Butter Imports in Australia
For the fourth year in a row, Australia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of peanut butter and prepared or preserved groundnuts, which increased by 19% to 12K tons in 2022.
