Pear Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023
The average pear import price stood at $1,406 per ton in October 2023, surging by 2.3% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated temperate growth from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, pear import price decreased by -33.3% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 27% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,108 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($1,407 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,400 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pear Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2023
The average pear export price stood at $960 per ton in October 2023, shrinking by -36.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 47% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,282 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Italy amounted to +3.7% per month.
Pear Imports in Croatia
In 2022, the amount of pears imported into Croatia fell to 8.3K tons, which is down by -3.1% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $9.9M, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Pear Exports in Croatia
In 2022, shipments abroad of pears decreased by -7.4% to 1.7K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 236%.
