Pear Price in Morocco (CIF) - 2023
The average pear import price stood at $730 per ton in June 2023, falling by -2.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 2.8% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $789 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Portugal ($807 per ton) and South Africa ($736 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($597 per ton) and the Netherlands ($603 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pear Price in Morocco (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pear export price amounted to $747 per ton, dropping by -4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated prominent growth from 2015 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.1% over the last seven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, pear export price increased by +37.1% against 2019 indices. From 2015 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Portugal (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
