Pear Price in New Zealand (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average pear export price amounted to $3,016 per ton, rising by 38% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded prominent growth. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($4,151 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($413 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pear Price in New Zealand (CIF) - 2023
In November 2023, the average pear import price amounted to $1,492 per ton, increasing by 9.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,785 per ton. From April 2023 to November 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
