The average phosphorus import price stood at $12,260 per ton in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, phosphorus import price increased by +85.0% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $12,260 per ton in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Italy.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to +8.1% per year.
Phosphorus Imports in Cameroon
In 2022, approx. 10 tons of phosphori were imported into Cameroon; remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years.
