Pigeon Peas Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average pigeon peas import price stood at $1,702 per ton in 2022, dropping by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a temperate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 58%. The import price peaked at $1,876 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($9,860 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($754 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+14.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average pigeon peas export price stood at $1,261 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -14.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 114%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,974 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Indonesia.
