Plugs and Socket Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average plugs and socket export price amounted to $0.5 per unit, falling by -19.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 51%. The export price peaked at $0.6 per unit in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.6 per unit), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($0.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average plugs and socket import price amounted to $352 per thousand units, picking up by 2.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $555 per thousand units in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($821 per thousand units), while the price for Turkey ($58.0 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plugs and Socket Exports in Slovenia
For the fourth year in a row, Slovenia recorded growth in shipments abroad of electrical plugs and sockets for under 1000 v, which increased by 30% to 125M units in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +67.0% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, plugs and socket exports expanded modestly to $62M in 2022. In general, exports posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 28%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 151M units, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, plugs and socket imports reduced to $59M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +50.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 52% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $67M, and then reduced in the following year.
