In December 2022, the average plugs and socket export price amounted to $885 per thousand units, declining by -6.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1.1 per unit in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($2.1 per unit), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($231 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
