Plum and Sloe Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average plum and sloe import price amounted to $2,273 per ton, shrinking by -4.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 64% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,805 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($4,248 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($556 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plum and Sloe Price in Switzerland (FOB) - 2022
The average plum and sloe export price stood at $2,299 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -6.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded moderate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 87%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,422 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($4,301 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,552 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plum and Sloe Imports in Switzerland
In 2022, the amount of plums and sloes imported into Switzerland fell to 7K tons, stabilizing at the year before.
