Plum and Sloe Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average plum and sloe import price stood at $1,552 per ton in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, plum and sloe import price decreased by -0.2% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 82% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,744 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($1,769 per ton), while the price for China ($1,492 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plum and Sloe Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average plum and sloe export price amounted to $1,203 per ton, falling by -2.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 3.6%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,577 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Norway ($1,228 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($703 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Plum and Sloe Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of plums and sloes, when their volume decreased by -24.9% to 1.1K tons. In general, imports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 99% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.5K tons, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, plum and sloe imports shrank notably to $1.8M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 99%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.4M, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Plum and Sloe Exports in Vietnam
In 2022, shipments abroad of plums and sloes was finally on the rise to reach 76 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment.
In value terms, plum and sloe exports skyrocketed to $91K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction.
