Polyurethanes Price in Estonia (CIF) - 2023
The average polyurethanes import price stood at $4,750 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 50% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,670 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($14,596 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($2,845 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Polyurethanes Price in Estonia (FOB) - 2023
In September 2023, the average polyurethanes export price amounted to $3,717 per ton, with a decrease of -11.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 60% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,627 per ton. From January 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($5,753 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($3,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Polyurethanes Imports in Estonia
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of polyurethanes in primary forms decreased by -23.5% to 2.4K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +30.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 54%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 3.1K tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, polyurethanes imports shrank sharply to $12M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.8% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +51.3% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 67% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $14M, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
