Potato Chips Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average potato chips import price stood at $11,192 per ton in September 2022, rising by 8.9% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a notable increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, potato chips import price increased by +53.1% against May 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 32% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in September 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($13,857 per ton), while the price for Germany ($4,540 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average potato chips export price amounted to $10,617 per ton, increasing by 7.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 44% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $12,307 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($37,853 per ton), while the average price for exports to Myanmar ($6,145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mongolia (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Potato Chips Imports in Singapore
In 2022, approx. 8K tons of potato chips were imported into Singapore; surging by 3.2% on the previous year's figure. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.9% over the last three years.
