Poultry Price in Saudi Arabia (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average poultry import price amounted to $1,887 per ton, falling by -4.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,379 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Russia ($2,371 per ton) and Argentina ($1,859 per ton), while the price for France ($1,658 per ton) and Ukraine ($1,814 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average poultry export price stood at $3,596 per ton in 2022, rising by 5.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 19% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,613 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($4,582 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($891 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Qatar (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Poultry Imports in Saudi Arabia
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in purchases abroad of poultry, when their volume increased by 2.3% to 614K tons. Overall, imports, however, showed a slight slump.
In value terms, poultry imports reduced to $1.2B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 3.6% against the previous year.
