The average preserved mackerel import price stood at $6,372 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 15% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,645 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,767 per ton), while the price for Latvia ($6,383 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average preserved mackerel export price stood at $6,757 per ton in June 2023, surging by 3.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 8.9% against the previous month.
