Preserved Olive Price in Mexico (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average preserved olive import price amounted to $2,712 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 485% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,740 per ton in May 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Peru ($3,948 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,531 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Peru (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preserved Olive Price in Mexico (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average preserved olive export price amounted to $7,685 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $7,690 per ton in 2021, and then fell slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Costa Rica ($29,381 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belize ($1,422 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Costa Rica (+22.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Olive Imports in Mexico
In 2022, approx. 19K tons of olives prepared or preserved were imported into Mexico; growing by 92% against the previous year. In general, imports enjoyed a significant increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, preserved olive imports soared to $32M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +57.1% against 2019 indices.
