Preserved Olive Price in Paraguay (CIF) - 2023
In November 2023, the average preserved olive import price amounted to $1,942 per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 94% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,739 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($3,772 per ton), while the price for Argentina stood at $1,847 per ton.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preserved Olive Imports in Paraguay
In 2022, overseas purchases of olives prepared or preserved decreased by -13% to 969 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, preserved olive imports shrank remarkably to $2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 9.6%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.5M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
