Preserved Olive Price in Ukraine (CIF) - 2022
The average preserved olive import price stood at $1,741 per ton in 2022, flattening at the previous year. In general, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved olive import price increased by +84.9% against 2012 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average import price increased by 30%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($2,820 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($966 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Olive Price in Ukraine (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average preserved olive export price amounted to $5,335 per ton, picking up by 157% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($5,381 per ton), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($680 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Armenia (+26.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Preserved Olive Imports in Ukraine
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of olives prepared or preserved decreased by -28.6% to 10K tons in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 15K tons, and then reduced sharply in the following year.
In value terms, preserved olive imports contracted significantly to $18M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year.

Preserved Olive Exports in Ukraine
In 2022, shipments abroad of olives prepared or preserved decreased by -0.1% to 17 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 446% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 20 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, preserved olive exports soared to $91K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 344%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
