The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $2,419 per ton in September 2023, declining by -3.8% against the previous month. Over the period from September 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 32% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,827 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,486 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($837 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $2,247 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, preserved sweet corn export price increased by +106.9% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($3,124 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($1,673 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
