Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn export price stood at $1,207 per ton in January 2022, surging by 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($1,755 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkmenistan ($967 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average preserved sweet corn import price stood at $1,256 per ton in January 2022, rising by 15% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($1,826 per ton), while the price for Poland ($953 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sweet Corn Exports in Russia
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of sweet corn prepared or preserved decreased by -14.7% to 22K tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +16.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +57.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 42%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 25K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn exports fell to $23M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $28M, and then declined in the following year.
