Preserved Tomato Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023
The average preserved tomato import price stood at $1,593 per ton in September 2023, with a decrease of -15.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a slight expansion from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, preserved tomato import price decreased by -17.8% against June 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 30% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,938 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Latvia ($2,299 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,257 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average preserved tomato export price amounted to $1,069 per ton, with a decrease of -9.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 11%.
