In 2022, the average import price for acids; acyclic polycarboxylic acids; oxalic acid, its salts and esterses amounted to $4,892 per ton, which is down by -19.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $6,085 per ton in 2021, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,158 per ton), while the price for France ($2,594 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (+22.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
