In 2022, the average import price for activated carbon; activated natural mineral products; animal black, including spent animal blacks amounted to $1,623 per ton, reducing by -21.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 23%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,975 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,789 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($361 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
