Over the period under review, the import price showed a buoyant increase. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the UK ($10,644 per ton), while the price for China stood at $3,053 per ton.

Overall, export price indicated a modest expansion from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, export price for acyclic alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses decreased by -19.0% against August 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 38% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,164 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($8,859 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($798 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
