The average export price for alcohols; aromatic and derivatives, other than benzyl alcohol stood at $79,569 per ton in December 2023, surging by 87% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 289% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $298K per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($248K per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($10,951 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
