In December 2023, the average import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses amounted to $10,238 per ton, declining by -1.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 48% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,736 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($55,177 per ton), while the average price for exports to New Zealand ($1,667 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
