In December 2023, the average import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses amounted to $10,238 per ton, declining by -1.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 48% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,736 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($12,827 per ton), while the price for India ($5,652 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
