Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from October 2022 to October 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on October 2023 figures, import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses decreased by -22.3% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 67% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $21,457 per ton. From August 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($22,610 per ton), while the price for China ($9,529 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In general, export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 41%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $19,435 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($28,054 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($9,405 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
