The average import price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses stood at $6,686 per ton in December 2023, with a decrease of -15.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 46% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $10,297 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($41,840 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($2,437 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for alcohols; cyclic, and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivativeses amounted to $10,225 per ton, rising by 5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 105% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $13,244 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($29,930 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($2,551 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+51.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.3% over the last three-year period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
