The average import price for alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia stood at $2,857 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -41.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $18,100 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($80,000 per ton), while the price for Kenya ($949 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for alkali or alkali-earth metals; calcia amounted to $1,143 per ton, picking up by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 7.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,862 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($1,154 per ton), while the average price for exports to Burundi totaled $1,000 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Rwanda (-7.2%).
Imports of Alkali or Alkali-Earth Metals; Calcium in Uganda
