In January 2024, the average import price for alloy steel, flat-rolled, width 600mm or more, cold-rolleds amounted to $1,227 per ton, reducing by -6.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.4% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,452 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was France ($1,401 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($906 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
