The average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $5,881 per ton in November 2023, with a decrease of -2.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 2.4% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $6,729 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($12,003 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($5,262 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to North Macedonia (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $5,181 per ton in 2022, surging by 27% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows increased by +78.0% against 2016 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($6,046 per ton), while the price for Romania ($2,624 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
