In 2022, the average import price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $4,448 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 25%. The import price peaked at $4,507 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($11,520 per ton), while the price for China ($2,432 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+11.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows stood at $5,824 per ton in 2022, growing by 7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows increased by +70.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 58%. The export price peaked at $6,618 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($18,500 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($2,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+20.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 25%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 1.2K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows dropped to $3.2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $4.6M.
