In December 2022, the average export price for aluminium; alloys, bars, rods and profiles, other than hollows amounted to $5,309 per ton, rising by 5% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2021 to December 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,367 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Algeria ($7,532 per ton), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($4,252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
