The average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles import price stood at $5,788 per ton in June 2023, rising by 1.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 4.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,455 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($18,172 per ton), while the price for Bosnia and Herzegovina ($5,460 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+13.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles export price amounted to $5,587 per ton, surging by 16% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 24%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Slovenia ($6,548 per ton) and Germany ($5,739 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($4,631 per ton) and Latvia ($4,775 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+38.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium; Alloys, Hollow Profiles in Croatia
In 2022, overseas purchases of aluminium; alloys, hollow profileses decreased by -3.5% to 10K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 11K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles imports soared to $65M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 51% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 211% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.2K tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles exports rose rapidly to $6.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 216% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
