The average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles export price stood at $4,744 per ton in June 2023, reducing by -2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $6,004 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Cyprus ($6,398 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($4,085 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles import price amounted to $7,143 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles import price increased by +69.3% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($24,661 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($4,688 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Aluminium; Alloys, Hollow Profiles in Greece
In 2022, shipments abroad of aluminium; alloys, hollow profileses decreased by -21.7% to 21K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 136% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 30K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles exports fell modestly to $115M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 106% against the previous year.
