In December 2021, the average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles import price amounted to $4,042 per ton, picking up by 2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2021 an increase of 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4,138 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,563 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($3,773 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average aluminium; alloys, hollow profiles export price stood at $4,160 per ton in December 2021, surging by 16% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2021 an increase of 16% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in December 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($5,365 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($2,074 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
