In 2022, the average import price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $3,874 per ton, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 31%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($4,926 per ton) and Turkey ($4,431 per ton), while the price for China ($3,336 per ton) and Serbia ($3,837 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms stood at $5,842 per ton in 2022, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms increased by +102.6% against 2016 indices.
