Price for Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Estonia (CIF) - 2024
In March 2024, the average import price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $4,593 per ton, with an increase of 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 16% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,210 per ton. From June 2023 to March 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Spain ($16,051 per ton), while the price for China ($2,850 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms stood at $6,347 per ton in 2022, falling by -44.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 88%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $13,808 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($13,281 per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($4,591 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+10.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Estonia
In 2022, supplies from abroad of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms decreased by -20.1% to 5K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 78% against the previous year.
In value terms, imports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms reduced to $26M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 67% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $28M, and then dropped in the following year.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms, when their volume decreased by -56.8% to 414 tons. Over the period under review, exports saw a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 957 tons, and then fell sharply in the following year.
In value terms, exports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms fell significantly to $2.6M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 242% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $11M, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
