In 2022, the average import price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $2,374 per ton, rising by 2.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 35% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,932 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($5,329 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($737 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+14.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Togo (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
