In 2022, the average export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $5,008 per ton, picking up by 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms increased by +57.2% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($11,092 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($3,271 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($6,995 per ton), while the price for Azerbaijan ($3,571 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, imports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms reduced sharply to $88M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 28%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $103M, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
