Price for Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Serbia (FOB) - 2024
In April 2024, the average export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $3,336 per ton, picking up by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 5.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,969 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to April 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was Russia ($4,759 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($2,955 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Price for Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Serbia (CIF) - 2024
In April 2024, the average import price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms amounted to $3,382 per ton, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2023 an increase of 2.7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,769 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to April 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($6,470 per ton), while the price for Greece ($3,137 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Serbia
In 2022, approx. 48K tons of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms were exported from Serbia; waning by -22.3% compared with the year before. In general, exports continue to indicate a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 61K tons, and then fell markedly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms rose notably to $229M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 89%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms surged to $179M in 2022. In general, imports posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 45%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
