Price for Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Turkey (FOB) - 2024
The average export price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms stood at $3,205 per ton in March 2024, picking up by 2.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight contraction. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $3,680 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to March 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In March 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to the Netherlands ($3,461 per ton) and the UK ($3,169 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($2,882 per ton) and Poland ($2,926 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms stood at $3,808 per ton in March 2024, declining by -7.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 7.3% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $4,713 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to March 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,188 per ton), while the price for Bahrain ($2,866 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strip of Thickness Exceeding 0.2 Mm in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms exported from Turkey dropped to 288K tons, with a decrease of -8.6% on the previous year's figure. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 45%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 315K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, exports of aluminium plates, sheets and strip of thickness exceeding 0.2 mms surged to $1.3B in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 95%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
