The average export price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s stood at $3,533 per ton in November 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 1.2% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,235 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($4,664 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($3,002 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In November 2023, the average import price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s amounted to $3,341 per ton, surging by 3.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a mild descent. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,760 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Turkey ($3,750 per ton) and China ($3,549 per ton), while the price for Greece ($3,126 per ton) and Germany ($3,207 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Aluminium; Plates, Sheets and Strip, Thickness Exceeding 0.2mm, Alloys, Rectangular (Including Square) in Serbia
In 2022, approx. 41K tons of aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s were exported from Serbia; with a decrease of -22.8% compared with 2021 figures. In general, exports saw a deep slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 58% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 53K tons, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
In value terms, exports of aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s rose markedly to $197M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 93%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

For the fourth consecutive year, Serbia recorded growth in overseas purchases of aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s, which increased by 22% to 41K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s soared to $166M in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
