In December 2023, the average import price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s amounted to $3,522 per ton, declining by -4.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a mild decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 2.3% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,992 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($5,814 per ton), while the price for India ($2,732 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($9,875 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($3,807 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
