Price for Aluminium; Powders and Flakes in Austria (FOB) - 2023

The average aluminium; powders and flakes export price stood at $3,707 per ton in August 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,114 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($43,195 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($4,270 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+21.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild slump. As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for France amounted to +3.6% per month.
