In 2022, the average aluminium; powders and flakes import price amounted to $1,186 per ton, picking up by 6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,866 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($13,000 per ton), while the price for China ($333 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, aluminium; powders and flakes imports shrank to $210 in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a sharp shrinkage. The smallest decline of -5% was in 2021.
