Price for Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Ukraine (CIF) - 2023
The average aluminium; tubes and pipes import price stood at $5,325 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -26.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a pronounced descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 45% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $7,427 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the countries with the highest prices were China ($6,278 per ton) and Turkey ($4,872 per ton), while the price for Poland ($4,277 per ton) and Italy ($4,582 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average aluminium; tubes and pipes export price stood at $4,938 per ton in 2022, rising by 50% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aluminium; tubes and pipes export price increased by +80.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,300 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($4,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Aluminium; Tubes and Pipes in Ukraine
In 2022, supplies from abroad of aluminium; tubes and pipeses decreased by -37.5% to 595 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 984 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium; tubes and pipes imports reduced sharply to $3.4M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $5.5M, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Over the period under review, exports showed a precipitous setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 5.8% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 568 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium; tubes and pipes exports declined dramatically to $389K in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a significant curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 0.4% against the previous year.
